Is there any easy way to print off articles/posts from Gawker Media sites/blogs and Kinja? The only way I can figure right now is 1.) copy-pasta to Word and edit all the stuff out or 2.) just print the whole damn thing including sidebar ads and comments.

I haven’t tried, but you could do a print screen and then crop to the article. Would suck for long articles...
